Tracey Galowitz Cindy Chang
Tracey Galowitz, attorney at Galowitz Olson Law, PLLC, and Cindy Chang, registered nurse RN referral coordinator for the Minneapolis VA Medical Center's Community Care Service Line, joined Lupus Link Minnesota’s Board of Directors in January.
Both share a connection with Lupus Link Minnesota’s mission of advancing knowledge and mobilizing resources to improve the lives of Minnesotans affected by lupus and related autoimmune diseases. Galowitz’s daughter was diagnosed with lupus in college, and Chang worked as a clinic RN Care Coordinator at the University of Minnesota Rheumatology Clinic for five years, seeing first-hand how lupus and other autoimmune diseases affects lives.
“The amazing work this organization does for lupus patients and their loved ones is my inspiration,” Galowitz said. “It is a gift to be given an opportunity to share whatever talents, insights or skills I may have to offer to such a great organization.”
Chang hopes to be an advocate for people living with lupus and other related autoimmune diseases by being able to assist with patient education resources and promote fundraising for the mission, including research. “It’s necessary to advance the understanding and treatment of the disease,” she said.
