What Are Related Autoimmune Diseases?

Lupus is one of a larger number of autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Sjogren’s syndrome, mixed connective tissue disease, scleroderma, myositis, etc. Flaws in the immune system function and regulation link all of these diseases. To date, there are at least 80 different types of autoimmune diseases. In many cases, there tends to be overlap between diseases, making it difficult to diagnose.
